Each year, Baldwin & Sons is proud to support Stars & Stripes Children Foundation in their Annual Tournament. Stars & Stripes is one of the largest events for children's charities in the US & Baja, MX. Last year, not even a hurricane approaching Cabo stopped them from reach breaking attendance and a record $5 million raised for children who need it most. Since the beginning of this tournament in 1996, friends and supports of Stars & Stripes, including Baldwin & Sons, has raised over $44 million to help kids and their families. This year, we aim to help Stars & Stripes reach even higher fundraising goals.
As a beneficiary, these non-profit organizations receive much-needed financial assistance to expand their programs and are able to increase publish awareness about their cause. This years beneficiaries are:
Big Brothers Big Sister of Orange County - Creates and supports one-to-one mentorships with disconnected youth in Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino Counties.
Orangewood Foundation - Provides services to transitional aged youth including health and wellness, housing, life skills and employment, and education.
Miracles for Kids - Gives assistance to families with critically ill children throughout Southern California, with the goal of keeping families together and stable.
Tilly's Life Center - Equips teens with life skills and coping techniques in an effort to combat suicide, anxiety, depression, bullying, school violence, substance abuse and addiction
SBCS - Supports Mi Escuelita, a therapeutic preschool program for 3-5 year old children who have been traumatized by family violence.
Casa De Amparo - Treats and prevents child abuse and neglect in San Diego county through programs that promote healing, growth, and healthy relationships.
Cure Duchenne - Funds early science, accelerates research of treatments, and pioneers educational support program for Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
Young Lives Redeemed - Provides services including connection to trauma-informed health care, substance abuse treatment, sustainable housing, education and more to transitional aged former foster youth.
Building Baja's Future - Helps to educate bright, ambitious teenagers and overcome limited opportunities.
Ongoing support for Stars & Stripes also funds medical missions through MISSION PLASTICOS in Cabo the week of the tournament. In 2022 a team of 9 doctors and nurses, joined by their program director, completed 34 transformational procedures and provided complex training sessions to local health officials. This team began working tirelessly at 6:45 AM each morning, not returning to the hotel until 10:00 PM to plan for the next day.
We at Baldwin & Sons are honored to support such an impactful organization. The Stars & Stripes Tournament will take place June 22nd - June 25th 2023 in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico and is hosted by the Hilton Los Cabos.
