Led by the incredible spirit and generosity of Founder and Chairman Al Baldwin, Baldwin & Sons’ cornerstone is giving back. The company and team’s combined contributions are wide reaching, spanning numerous organizations, campaigns, drives and leadership positions. Enriching the lives of disadvantaged youth and families, enhancing communities, and preserving American lands and history are key areas of focus. A snapshot of some of the company’s efforts include:
Al Baldwin sits on the Board of the National Park Foundation, reappointed by three presidential administrations, and recently led a record-breaking $550 million fundraising campaign in support of our treasured parks and national monuments.
Al Baldwin helped found and has served on the board for Stars & Stripes, an organization whose goal is to enrich as many children’s lives as possible. Stars & Stripes has raised more than $40 million for various organizations providing critical services to families and children struggling with poverty, domestic violence, serious illness, homelessness and depression. Baldwin & Sons is also a major, continued donor.
During the pandemic, the company’s leadership team organized a fundraiser for South Bay Community Services, raising more than $120,000 to support the non-profit’s food program, feeding families struggling to make ends meet due to impacts of the virus.
Al, along with his late wife Deeann, built and donated the Deeann & Al Baldwin Athlete Residences dormitory, which houses US and international Olympic athletes and teams who train at the world-class Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center.
The company regularly looks for new opportunities to serve its communities. “I come from humble beginnings and with all of my life’s fortunes – an incredible wife and family, a successful business – I’ve never forgotten where I came from or taken my blessings for granted.
